William LeGoullon is a photographic-based artist living and working in the Phoenix area. He often credits his devotion to and engagement with the Phoenix arts community as one of his driving inspirations. Actively supporting this community for over 10 years, he has experienced success with exhibitions attracting large amounts of people, press, and acknowledgement. This year he was awarded The Contemporary Forum of The Phoenix Art Museum’s “Emerging Artist Grant” and exhibited in The Arizona Biennial ’11 at the Tucson Museum of Art. He also takes part in artist lectures and educational engagement presentations throughout the city. He is a member of The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art’s Artist Advisory Council and is an Eye Lounge Artist Collective and Contemporary Art Gallery Alumni.
In 2009, LeGoullon received his BFA from the Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. That same year he exhibited his thesis exhibition, “Evolution of Unseen Stories” at ASU’s Step Gallery. This would be followed by his exhibition entitled “Dust” at Modified Arts Contemporary Gallery in Phoenix, one of the most respectable art spaces in the city. In early 2010, LeGoullon exhibited at Eye Lounge Contemporary Gallery in Phoenix, showcasing Arizona’s remaining Drive-In Movie Theaters through his “Intermission” series. Later, in September of 2010, works from his “A-1 Country” project, explored the states emblematic beer-brewing history and helped gain him public attention after his opening reception event at The Icehouse attracted close to 1000 visitors and would lead to further media press and recognition. He plans to continue living and working in the Phoenix area.
